SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute

The Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) works globally to change the way water is managed and valued. SIWI works all over the world on water management, policy and research projects.

They used to have 18 different websites for different projects, which became expensive and communication challenging for SIWI to reach out. At the same time, several smaller projects had no website at all.

We have now gathered all websites in one place - siwi.org as a portal not only for the whole organisation and all its priority areas but also several microsites for SIWI's different projects.

Working with Björn & Tobias has been a rewarding, creative and structured process. With patience, pedagogy and a positive and solution-oriented spirit, he has brought us and our varied wishes, complex decision-making processes and financial constraints, to the finish line with a solution in full time and cost control.

We have a website that we and our visitors are very satisfied with. For employees, it is a flexible tool that makes good communication easy and effective.

A quick experience - Headless CMS

We wanted to create a fast experience for visitors but also an architecture that allows SIWI to easily grow and further develop its web. We therefore developed the website according to the concept of Headless where we use React in the front-end and WordPress as CMS.

Functionality and integrations on the website

As the website is so extensive and managed by several different administrators, it was particularly important to find a smooth publishing flow. Templates built on blocks with high flexibility that allow you to build many different page types but still strictly follow SIWI's graphic profile and design language.

A website consisting of several micro-sites

The result was a comprehensive digital platform that brings together all SIWI activities and programmes. Content and information can be easily shared between the main website and the different micro-sites - which reduces administration and enables both small projects to get a professional website and large projects to build more comprehensive micro-sites.
